Projects & Portfolio
September 1st, 2008 by Steve Leonard
My client list is only small right now but do let me explain.

Web Design is a hobby, not a full time job, so i am cautious as to what projects to take on.
I needed a flag ship design to work on and due to my son being a member of the Southampton Samurai Judo Club i decided to offer my Web Design Service to them.

The reason for doing this was mainly to create a working design where anything new i learnt could be added to this site. Its been a tremendous success so far, we have lots of Animated Effects, various Photographic Slideshows, Special Effects, a 3D Archive Gallery and even fully customised and edited Video Shows of competitions.
I do not just design Web Sites, as a respected member of Rentacoder.com i can take on any project i wish. This could be a gallery, email php script, photo editing. All these can be added to existing web sites.
Projects & Portfolio - Georganna Sullivan
Project: Photo Editing

Georganna Sullivan approached Steve Leonard WebDesign's early April 2008. Georganna, a Freelance Author in San Diego,CA is currently working closely on a project which requires some 'Technical' assistance and when i found out about the project, i was only to happy to help.
When you need any of the following: Talent. Creativity. Experience.
Expertise: Art, Literature, Religion, Journalism. Press Releases. Restaurant Reviews.

I have been a Technical Author and Editor since 1979. One major client has been an international consultancy group, who specialise in company benefits and actuarial consulting. I have also been contracted by two large electronics companies, to write user guides for mobile phones.
This is the beauty of Rentacoder.com, it allows you to bid for work. This project was something i wanted after reading the design requirements. 200 digital camera images from a field trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau!
The images were to be transformed to look incredibly old and the added to a bespoke Flash Media Gallery, which i designed to be viewed on Georganna's own website which she was designing.
Here is an example of one of the images.

And here is the same one made to look older.

The effect i produced on this and the other images won we more work from Georganna which we are currently negotiating.
Auschwitz-Birkenau, Nazi Germany's largest concentration and extermination camp facility, was located nearby the provincial Polish town of Oshwiecim in Galacia, and was established by order of Reichsfuhrer SS Heinrich Himmler on 27 April 1940. Private diaries of Goebbels and Himmler unearthed from the secret Soviet archives show that Adolf Hitler personally ordered the mass extermination of the Jews during a meeting of Nazi German regional governors in the chancellery. As Goebbels wrote "With regards to the Jewish question, the Fuhrer decided to make a clean sweep ..."
This project was quite moving and some of the images were quite cold and heartless. A real challenge. I will be hosting the gallery soon.

Richard Cook is a local reputable builder in the West Sussex area and when he contacted me for some advice i was only to happy to help.
After the initial design was produced, Richard and myself discussed various changes to all the options I produced until we both agreed on the design below.
The template and text layout was created using Adobe Illustrator and the graphics designed in Adobe Photoshop. The 3D building image was rendered in AutoCAD 2009.
